rest, the surface becomes randomly

distorted when approached.

System based on a mobile needle,

moved by electromagnets, gears and

electronic cards.

THE CUCKOO

2005

As part of his “Full Employment”

exhibition at the Museum of

Contemporary Art in Strasbourg,

Xavier Veilhan entrusted to Enzyme

the design and production

of the Cuckoo.

A series of gears animated by steel

balls, the Cuckoo Cascade is wound up

by hand and functions autonomously.

The work was bought

by the Viktor Pinchuk Foundation,

in Kiev in Ukraine.

Lacquered steel, aluminium.

Steel gears, hydraulic jack.

THE CUCKOO, edition

Miniature interpretation of the Cuckoo

by Xavier Veilhan.

Bowling balls take the place of the

stainless steel ball and the hydraulic

jack is replaced by a manual winding

mechanism with a handle and spring.

Produced in five copies.

Anodised aluminium, steel,

568 pieces of detached stainless steel.

THE TURBINE

At Enzyme, we designed and

manufactured the moulds for Turbine

by Veilhan and suspended it from the

ceiling of the Emmanuel Perrotin

gallery, motorising it.

Very fine carbon fibre,

Breadth: Ø 3.5m,

Weight 100kg

AEROLITE

2007

For the opening of the "Airs de Paris"

exhibition at the Georges Pompidou

Centre, Xavier Veilhan staged

"Aérolite", an acoustic musical show

interpreted by the group Air.

The Enzymes installed the Pendulum

on stage, an 11m double beam along

which a polished stainless steel sphere

slowly rolls.
